Knitting needle maintenance

After the circular knitting needles are unpacked and unboxed, attention should be paid to the correct operation and maintenance of the knitting needles at every stage from loading on the machine, normal production, long-term shutdown, and sealing off the machine. If handled properly, it will be beneficial to the smoothness of the fabric, the stability of the weaving process and the service life of the knitting needles.

1.When the knitting needles have just been unpacked and put on the machine and unloaded: first check the quality of the knitting needles, because if unopened knitting needles are stored for too long and the storage environment is not good, rust spots or anti-rust oil will appear on the surface of the knitting needles. It dries out and produces a hard oil film, which makes the needle latch inflexible, which is not conducive to weaving and makes it difficult to remove the cloth. After inserting the needle and starting to unload the fabric, you should use a refueling bottle to add some knitting lubricating oil to the knitting needle. This will ensure that the knitting needle is properly lubricated and reduce damage to the pins and needle latch when starting the machine. You should also pay attention to the position of the yarn guide, the position of the knitting needle, and the adjustment of the cam. These can cause damage to the knitting needle and should be adjusted to a more reasonable position. After unloading the cloth, start the machine normally. You can spray a few rounds of W40 anti-rust oil on the needle area while the machine is running. This will effectively remove the original rust spots on the knitting needles and the oil film produced by the anti-rust oil, making the knitting needles faster. Get into the ideal state. The speed of starting the vehicle should not be too fast and should be done gradually.

2. When the machine is waiting to be stopped for a long time: the machine should be cleaned first, then slow down for a few turns, and spray W40 anti-rust oil on the exposed parts of the knitting needles. I do not recommend spraying knitting oil here, because knitting oil contains emulsifying additives, which will react chemically with moisture in the air and is not conducive to rust prevention. Then cover the cam box with a layer of plastic wrap to avoid direct exposure of the knitting needles. The rust-proof condition of knitting needles should also be checked regularly in the future.

3.Maintenance after unloading knitting needles: After unloading knitting needles, they should be soaked in knitting oil for one to two days (mainly to soak the impurities in the needle groove and the impurities in the knitting needle to soften them). Clean the outside, spray it with W40 anti-rust oil, and then seal it in a relatively sealed container. Later, it is necessary to observe and spray anti-rust oil regularly.
