Working principle of sinker and knitting needles

First, the sinker does not work, and the knitting needle rises slightly to reduce the tension on the newly formed coil.

Second, push the knitting needle upward through the cam or jacquard selector, and the coil opens the latch. When the knitting needle rises, the sinker moves toward the center of the needle barrel, and the throat holds the coil.

Third, the knitting needle is pushed by the cam or jacquard selector and continues to rise upward (if the knitting needle is pushed by the cam, it will be pushed down to the middle height/position by the fixed cam, and then it will be re-selected, and the selected needle will be pushed by the jacquard selector again. ) until it reaches the highest position and is ready to eat yarn. (If the yarn guide is lowered, the yarn will be eaten by the knitting needle when the knitting needle returns to the middle height). After the old coil opens the needle latch, it slides onto the needle bar.

Fourth, the needle hook (needle) hooks the loop and begins to fall. The sinker moves back, allowing the new yarn to fall onto the sinker's shoulder. (The sinker really helps with the knitting part).

Fifth, the sinker is completely retracted, the knitting needle continues to fall, and the old coil closes the needle latch.

Sixth, the knitting needle continues to fall, and the old loop falls off along the closed needle latch and across the needle head while forming a new loop.
